Bourbon Flip

My first egg-white cocktail. I usually let the Mister handle protein based cocktails, but I decided to take a ride on the wild side today.image

1/2 Fresh Egg White
1/2 Tablespoon of Sugar
1 Jigger of Bourbon (I used our barrel aged Buffalo Trace Bourbon)
The Recipe also calls for one dash of rum, I used one dash of our Christmas bourbon bitters.

Dry shake ingredients until egg-white is foamy, then add cracked ice and shake for ten seconds. Pour into a 5oz glass and sprinkle grated nutmeg on top.


P.S. Depression champagne/sherbet glasses are perfect for sipping this cocktail.


Note: A traditional “Flip” contains a whole egg.
